Description of ClockWerx Windows

Clockwerx is a delightful action puzzle game of split-second thought and timing.

Look up titles, filenames, SHA1, PN #. 1990s mac space games.

The plot: someone must journey into the inner workings of the great Clock of the Universe to repair it. The player must maneuver a spinning clock hand from one part of a grid to a gateway that leads to the next level. Over 100 exciting play fields include such obstacles as enemy clock hands, oil globs and spikes.

Overall, it's an addictive game that's not for the easily frustrated or for those who hate arcade elements in puzzle games.

Note: an interesting anecdote to the game is that it was the only game not designed by Tetris creator Alexei Pajitnov that had his 'endorsement' displayed on the box. It was actually developed by Callisto Productions, a now-defunct small US company who later released the Windows version under the name Ultimate Spin Doctor, published by Expert Software.

This game should be revived as a smartphone app because it is deceptively simple. One button controls the spin stick, which you must navigate through the pegboard-like game screen in order to collect points and avoid spikes, flames, and sentient acid blobs. It seems easy, but each level is harder than the last, and as the speed increases your timing and reflexes are put to the test. Very addictive. It wouldn't take up much space to run, either, given the simple graphics and controls. Someone get on this!

Simple band novel enough puzzler

The game, while not designed by Pajitov himself, got his seal of approval and seems to follow some of his principles in terms of puzzler game design. Your goal is to get the switches ordered I such a fashion as to get the entire list of revolving clock indicators fixed in the same direction and showing the same time. This is done by changing their positions in respect to each other and in respect to their own orientations by gradually switching the circuit switches. You have to be both exact in terms of timing as well as exact in the manner in which you arrange the clocks. It kind of feels like a timer based tile puzzler. The game sports different boards, made available to you as you unlock the current ones, though their difficulty doesn't seem to increase gradually, keeping at the same relative level. Overall, it's an unusual puzzler, with an interesting premise, but ultimately it doesn't seem to stick with you. I would however recommend it to hardcore puzzler fanatics, for its more uncommon nature, though, they too might find it a bit hard to sink into.
